12th Scale Miniature – Knife Sharpener
Dimensions 4cm wide x 2.8cm deep x 3.1cm high
Made from 3D printed resin, this 12th scale knife sharpener can be used in a workshop, kitchen or scullery. It does not work! A model only with no moving parts.
Painting tips
For a smooth finish, begin with a suitable primer before applying paint. Alcohol-based paints can create a lovely, fluid finish, while acrylics offer good coverage and a wide choice of colours.
To create the cast iron finish it is incredibly easy and effective. Firstly paint the item black. I like to use an off black with a hint of brown as it softens the black and looks nicer on the model.
When dry rub graphite powder into the surface and buff to a sheen. Graphite powder is pencil lead and can be purchased in powder form. When rubbed into a black surface it will make the black look like black cast iron. You can add a dry brush of a lighter off white to raise the detailing.
Materials and durability
3D printed in high-grade resin, carefully selected for its long-lasting durability. While some 3D printing resins may deteriorate over time, I use premium-quality resin chosen for its longevity, so you can enjoy your miniature for years to come.
